We catch up with Aftershock Ring Girl Melissa Stravis. She’s been a busy bee this year, and can’t wait to strut the cage at Aftershock 12.1.
Here’s the interview we had with her!
How have you been Melissa? What have been up to since the new year?
Ive been focusing a lot on studying, I’m about to start a course in Physiotherapy, so I’m very much looking forward to that. I have also been doing a lot of photoshoots which I always love doing and I have just been picked to be a Playboy Model In Melbourne for The Midnight Summer dream Party! So I’m so exited to mingle with all the celebs and beautiful woman, and of course run a muck with the girls. I’m also in the middle of making my own Fitness Blog. I want to help all the ladies out there achieve there goals and give them all the nutrition and training advice they need.
What are you looking forward to at Aftershock 12.1?
I’m just looking forward to having a fun day which I always do. Its always awesome watching all the great fights! I hear there are girls this time who are fighting, so I wouldn’t mind seeing that, as I’m looking to train to fight in a few months time..
Do you prefer watching a stand-up or a ground game fight?
Ground =)
What’s your favourite thing about being a ring girl?
Of course Getting to watch all the fights! I love it! I’m so happy to get the chance to be apart of such a great sport.. Not to mention watching all the guys get all sweaty is pretty good too…Hehe
Would you ever get the in cage?
Yup =) Keep an eye out for me in the future!
Who is your favourite fighter?
I like a couple, but I would have to say Anderson Silva right now because it doesn’t look like he will be beat anytime soon. However, with his last fight with Patrick Cote, I wasn’t as impressed. Maybe someone with a style as Patrick Cote stands a good chance with him. But, right now, I don’t think that Anderson “The Spider” Silva can be beat. With the light heavyweight, the Rashad Evans fight is going to be good with Forrest Griffin. Rashad has a very good chance of winning it. However, I prefer Forrest. So, since there is so much talent in this division, it’s hard to call one of the light heavyweights the best. =)
What is sexier? An MMA fighter or a humorous guy?
Can I have both? Hehe. But I’d have to say I’d rather a guy with a sense of humor rather a guy who is a MMA fighter with none…
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m a bit of a hermit sometimes, I like to spend my time cooking and learning new recipes. I guess that’s the Greek in me..hehe. I’m also a self confessed gamer, I love my XBox! Haha. I live and breath Health and Fitness and Its like a second nature to me, whether I’m outside biking, Playing footy or In the gym lifting heaving weights, I love staying fit! I also love going fishing and having a few beers with my boyfriend, I have been fishing since I was young, so I don’t mind getting all dirty =)
What are you looking towards to for the rest of 2012?
I’m looking forward to traveling overseas and spending more time going to new places here in Aus. (Yay road trips!) I’m going to SA to go deep sea fishing and crabbing with my partner and staying at a beach house.. So exited. I’m hoping to catch some big snapper! Also looking forward to competing in the INFBB Championships later in the year (Fitness Bikini Model Comp) Wish me luck!!
