The HAMMA Arena – the gym facility like no other and the home to Australia’s top amateur grassroots mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion, Aftershock MMA.
MMA promoter, gym owner, businessman and a father of three Ross Cameron, is playing a key part of what MMA is becoming today in Australia.
Announced at the packed-out Aftershock 13.4 show on the weekend Cameron will be opening a third Fightcross MMA gym at the HAMMA Arena.
Owning two Fightcross gyms, Geebung and North Lakes in Brisbane respectively, the third facility at Bowen Hills is at a prime location, right next to the heart of the city and public transport.
Cameron looks forward to developing and transforming the HAMMA Arena into a prestige environment where MMA athletes and enthusiasts can train with some of the best MMA coaches in the country.
Staffing roster includes celebrated UFC veteran Chris “The Hammer” Haseman who is the director of Fitness Industry Training, a tertiary school that provides training for upcoming personal trainers.
Haseman well known for introducing wrestling skills to both the NRL and Australian Rugby union codes, he also has worked with many of Australia’s national sporting teams including the Wallabies, State of Origin teams, as well as holding the position of athletic performance coach for the Brisbane Broncos.
“Working with Ross will provide opportunities to grow and cement MMA as a respected sport in Australia.” says Haseman, “Our focus is not only on producing top MMA athletes but providing a space for all kind of clients who want a demanding and challenging workout to add to their day-to-day routine.”
Cameron says “It’s an amazing opportunity to have Chris on as a coach at Fightcross Bowen Hills especially to develop the grassroots MMA in Queensland. I have some huge plans for HAMMA Arena so watch this space.”
Fightcross Bowen Hills is opening early July, with a grand opening date to be announced.
